The Royal Dames of Cancer Research, Inc. is a support organization established to raise funds in support of the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, Inc., a research facility and independent laboratory located just outside Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the city of Plantation. The Royal Dames organization was established in April 1969, and through annual fundraising events we have raised millions of dollars to support the critical research being done at the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute. The Dames are best known for their annual ball, the "Tiara Ball", known throughout the tri-county area as one of the most prestigious and elegant balls of the season.

Membership in the Royal Dames is by invitation only. Members are carefully selected to reflect a broad spectrum of talent and leadership. Through their efforts, the Royal Dames contribute substantially to the advancement of cancer research at the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute. Members are required to participate both financially and through their active roles as committee members for our fund raisers. In order to remain active in our organization, each member must make a commitment to contribute toand support each of our fund raisers. In addition, the membership offers the opportunity to form new friendships through membership meetings and social events that take place throughout the year. Our organization offers the rare opportunity for each member to make a difference through participation in an endeavor that may ultimately end man's struggle to conquer this illness.
